Methodology and Qualitative Research Expert

As a Methodology Expert at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), Dr. Philip Adu provides support to dissertating students on their methodology related issues. In 2011, he completed his Doctoral degree in Education: with a concentration in Learning, Instructional, Design and Technology from West Virginia University. Dr. Adu is specialized in program planning and evaluation, curriculum development, and technology integration.  

He was involved in diverse program planning and evaluation projects such as a National Science Foundation funded project, “Engineers of Tomorrow”, and “Quality Rating and Improvement for West Virginia Child Care”, which was funded by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. Dr. Adu has extensive knowledge and skills in conducting research (especially qualitative research), and designing and teaching research method courses.  

He developed and taught Statistics, Qualitative Research, Action Research, and Program Evaluation courses in the International Psychology program, and Educational Psychology and Technology program at TCSPP. His unique way of demystifying and simplifying qualitative data analysis processes to his audience during webinars (posted in YouTube) has been a great help to many.  

In addition, Dr. Adu has a great expertise in using qualitative data analysis software (QDAS) to conduct qualitative analyses. This is evident in one of the popular NVivo blog posts, Perfecting the Art of Qualitative Coding and his published book, A Step-by-Step Guide to Qualitative Data CodingHe is also a co-author of the book, The Theoretical Framework in Phenomenological Research: Development and Application
